Oh my goodness, Steve! The sinking dream! I’ve had this one for decades. In my dream, I’m a child in the passenger seat of my parents’ old 1956 blue Chevy. My Dad’s driving as we head over the bridge crossing the Welland Canal near our home in St. Catharines, near Niagara Falls. It’s very dark and silent as the car suddenly leaves the bridge and dives soundlessly towards the black, oily canal water below. A truly terrifying nightmare….
Carolyn: I think this sinking car is a very frequent, almost universal dream…. though knowing this doesn’t make the dream feel any better….At least I wasn’t in the car that was sinking; you got to sink with it….. there is a theory/suggestion in dream interpretation that the year of a car in a dream can be about a trauma/emotional event that occurred in that year….
