In this patient Tao is still in an unconscious form.
It is discerned by far-reaching intuition but remote from her conscious psychology
These visions really are interpretations of things that might come off, but it is not at all certain they will.
To have such a vision is like seeing through a telescope the top of a mountain which is still so far away that one would have to walk sixty kilometers to reach even the foot of it.
Here she evidently does not realize that the serpent has any special meaning.
