Kasatkin: Diagnostic Dream of Suffocation

Kasatkin recorded some dreams of patients with tuberculosis.

A medical student, for example, dreamed she was lying on the earth when it began to give way under her, forming a cavity.

The sides of the earth began to fall on top of her body, compressing her chest and producing a feeling of suffocation….

This dream had been recorded two months before the onset of her illness.
